India Travel Advice
I have been working with India-OdysseyTours to develop a 2 1/2 week tour of India beginning in Bangalore-Madurai, then heading north to Delhi tovisit the major sites in Rajasthan including Jophur and Jaisalmer. Its a comprehensive trip mostly by car. By the way, I will be 81 by the time this trip occurs.
My question is whether anyone has used India-Odessey Tours and would you recommend them for a trip as outlined? Their price seems quite reasonable for a trip of this magnitude.
Appreciate any advice you can provide. Thanks in advance for your interest and help.

Is there a reason you are starting in Bangalore/Madurai? That seems out of the way for Rajastan which has plenty to see. If I were to add a location to Rajastan, it would probably be Varanasi. This is not to say that Madurai is not fantastic.

We will be flying BA and wanted to visit Madurai, we would then fly to Delhi to start the Rajasthan portion. We will use an open jaw connection to depart out of Delhi. It seemed more efficient that way.
This will be my second visit and did Varanasi the last time.
Thanks,

Your tour company has fantastic top notch reviews on Trip Advisor.
Raj. will still be a bit warm then. Our last trip to India included Raj. in mid Oct. It was easily in the low 90's so stay hydrated and bring a good hat.
India traffic can be horrific at times esp. in urban areas.
How long will you be in Delhi? Also does your travel company offer health insurance just in case? We always get it.
Cheers, Larry.

Thanks, Larry. Good news re the travel company. Been there and done that on India roads. We're launching and departing from Delhi after Madurai. We'll a have full day of touring there as well.
Roger on trip insurance, I normally use Insuremytrip for foreign travel.
Thanks again for your feedback.

Great! Sounds like you know all the angles.
.
If you haven't been to Delhi before one place I have found very moving is the home of Indira Gandhi which is now a memorial to her life. However there is a lot to see in Delhi too. You have to pick and choose if you have one day. By he time you go will your id be Richard81.

Have fun and enjoy.
