How do I get a JR discount at hotel Graniva
I just booked several nights at hotel Graniva in Osaka for April on their website. I have not bought my JR pass yet, but I am planning to buy it. How do I get a discount at this hotel with my pass? I have not seen any options for JR pass holders while booking on their website.
Do I need to book over the phone to get a discount? Will I need to cancel my current booking to obtain a discount when I get a pass? Thank you!

Just show your JR Pass when you arrive at the hotel.
When you get to Japan (i.e. before you go to Osaka) you could stop into the travel agent office at any major JR station and see what rate is available (when you book a hotel at this kind of agency you pay on the spot). You might get a lower rate than what you have booked.
Or you might find that your rate is discounted more than the JR rate (I doubt it).
Or the agency (in your home country) that issues the voucher for your pass might be able to book the hotel for you.
I walked into the Granvia in Hiroshima one evening, asked the rate for a night, showed my pass, and got a discount.

Well the Japanese webpage has the same prices as the English page.
Am guessing these are rack rates:

For all I know this Japanese page has links or other info about discounts that are not on the English page. But you can see the same list of rates:

I showed our JR Pass at the same Granvia Hiroshima as mrwunrfl and they told me that my internet price that I had gotten was lower than the JR price so no discount.
I have also used it in JR Kakunodate hotel at check in and recieved a discounted rate so I guess the moral of the story is to show them your JR pass at check in and see if you get a discount.
There is the option to book a JR pass room online with most JR hotels which will give you the Pass discount booking online

The JR Pass rate at the Granvia Osaka is ¥4000 higher per night than the best available rate on the nights in April I checked. The best available rate is the same as the rate for Il Cuore but the Granvia's rooms are bigger. Note that Il Cuore allows double occupancy in a single, but it is a closet sized 15 m2. Doubles are 18 m2, a bigger closet. Granvia's rooms start at 20 m2, a walk in closet. Not having stayed in either one, I still suspect the Granvia is nicer and a better value. Once you go over ¥10,000/night, bigger than 15 m2 should be expected.

Thank you, again!
Kim, this explanation about the bed sizes is very helpful. I was supecting, I should not book those semi-double room. I think Granvia is fine, it is just IL Cuore seems so much closer to where I want to be.
Is it easy to get from Namba JR station (Nankai line, coming from Koyasan) to Osaka station? Someone was saying it is a little confusing.

This explains the route if you haven't seen it already
