Hong Kong with Kiddies!?
I'm traveling to Hong Kong next week with my husband and two kids ages 7 and 10. What kind of attractions would you recommend for families besides Disneyland? We'll be there for 4 days, 3 nights.

Ocean Park is the other major theme park. Kind of like Seaworld.
And they should have fun riding the Star Ferry and Peak Tram. Or paddle boats at the Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park. Probably the bird market in the morning if you're not paranoid about the avian flu.

In the downtown area of HK Island, I always see lots of kids having a ball in Hong Kong Park, especially around the fountain and the lagoon. HK Park is squeezed in between the Pacific Place complex, the Bank of China building, and the entrance to the Peak Tram.

- Peak Tram
- Ladies Night Market
- Star Ferry
- Disneyland (but I heard it is CRAZY crowded)
- Hong Kong Park (though it gets boring quickly)
- Lantau Island (go see the Big Buddha)
- Wet food markets (like the one in WanChai) - get up early in the morning and see how natives buy food (meat, veggies, etc.)
- day trip to Shenzhen (it's a quick train ride, but you will need a Chinese visa)

Have you checked out discoverhongkong.com? It's run by the Hong Kong tourism board and has a lot of information.
My kids and I have enjoyed the Duk Ling ride, Kung Fu Corner, Big Buddha, the Peak Tram, Kowloon Walled City Park, Wong Tai Sin Temple, Symphony of Lights, Double Decker Bus to Stanley, Museum of Coatal Defense ...
We've heard that the Science Museum is great, but it was closed the day we tried to go (Thurs.)Just walking around on Nathan St. is interesting for a while.
We went to Disney 2 weeks ago and it was not crowded at all. Make sure to take advantage of the fastpasses.
Public transportation in HK is very easy to use. Both trains and busses are great and of course the Star Ferry is a must. Pick up a discover hong kong travel guide (pamphlet) in the airport. It gives you directions on how to get where you want to go in English and Chinese so you can get help in case you get lost.
Have a great time!
