Hong Kong Hotels

Hi,

I am traveling to Hong Kong soon. I usually stay at the Salisbury on Kowloon - but it is fully booked because of a conference/trade show. Wondering if anyone has recommendations of great value hotels that you have stayed in?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

What dates? And what's your budget limit?

Dates are April 09 and I am looking for the best value for the money. I find the Salisbury offers that - great location - comfortable rooms for a reasonable price. That is what I am looking for in an alternate hotel.

thanks,

Second half of April is the Canton Fair trade show in Guangzhou. Even though worldwide business has been down, the twice-a-year Canton Fair (the other time at 2nd half of October) is the time when hotel rates in Hong Kong is highest.

So, are you going in first half of April or second half?

Also, many hotels don't release rates or only have rack rates this far out, especially during the Canton Fair. Some hotels that often are good value may not be at that time.

If you say "I am staying on April xx to yy and my budget is USD$xxx", then we can help you look. Of you can go to Expedia, Travelocity, Asiahotels, Asiarooms, etc, and find some candidates (along with rates), then come back to ask which one is the best value.

Otherwise, it's very hard to help you. One person can say "Kowloon Hotel", then you go search for dates and find that rate is not good; then you come back and ask again. Takes forever with low efficiency.

We will be traveling the 2nd half of April...not for the trade show.

If anyone can provide a list of 4 or 5 hotels in Hong Kong that are good value in a good location similar to the Salisbury - it would be appreciated.

I do not have a definite budget - but would like opinions of good quality hotels for a good price.

Thanks!

John

Have not looked at the Kowloon yet - but will.

Also - Doesn't have to be Kowloon - if there are options on the other side - I could look at that.

I will have some people with me - so we'll need a number of rooms.

thanks!!

John

I recently stayed at the Regal Kowloon Hotel. It is a10 minute walk from the subway and from the Star Ferry. I do not know the rates for your dates, but it was very satisfactory, IMO.
