I am going to HK in May for 4 days with my friends. Do you recommend the 3 star hotel with LAN which is available to connect the internet in the guest room ? We’d like the location on the Kowloon side, if possible. My budget is around HKD $600 per night.

I do not know of a hotel in Kowloon but on the HK island side in Causeway Bay is the Rosedale on the Park which has internet access in every room. We'll be statying there in Sept/Oct.

Thank you for your information on The First Cyber Hotel: Rosedale on the Park. Location is OK, but rate is too high to me, as it says HKD$948 per night even in the promotion rate.

Isn't is possible to look for a cyber hotel for cheap rate, around HKD $600 per night ?

Most hotels have broadband internet access available from the guestrooms, often with a per day charge for use. Go to one of the reputable hotel booking sites, check out hotels in your price range, as see whether the description includes internet access from guestrooms.

Sorry Kunio, I didn't look at your rate. I too thought I could not afford this hotel (especially for 7 nights in high season October) but they have a long staying package (7 nights is considered long stay) and we ended up with a great rate on a Jr Suite. Was surprised they honoured the package during October.

Thank you everybody. I have a short report on the results because I think I should respond here since I posted questions, for your information.
I am able to reserve a standard room of Royal Pacific Hotel (Tsim Shasui, Kowloon) for HKD$ 660 per night through a web agent. I am not aware that the room rate of a 3 star hotel might cost even HKD$ 1,000 fuelled by rapidly growing demand from mainland travelers due to the Individual Permit Scheme began in 2003, as a news paper reported.

Sorry for my late reply because we, Japanese were in a Golden Week holiday.
The Individual Permit Scheme, which now covers 44 cities, allows Chinese mainlanders to cross the border to Hong Kong without having to travel in a group. It is reported that starting this week, residents from six more mainland cities may visit Hong Kong under this scheme.
That’s why hotel rates do not decrease in Hong Kong,I believe.

Sorry for my late reply. I just saw your posting. I have a wonderful suggestion for you if you can get it. I stayed at the Salisbury YMCA a couple of years ago wth my daughter and were very positively surprised. They advertise it as )an upscaly Holiday Inn" and it certainly that accompanied by many, many more extras. It is located across from the Peninnsula Hotel and the Star Ferry and across from all the wonderful museums on Kowloon. It is a short walk from Nathan Lane and all offers. The only problem is that you might not be able to get a reservatiuon. It sells out quickly. Enjoy!
