Has anyone used discount web sites? Are they reliable- I noted that special requests such as room tye and beds may not be honored. Are some sites better than other as prices directly thru the hotles are much higher?

I agree with JPA. Asiatravel and Planetholiday are both good, Asiatravel has far more information on the particular hotels. I've never had a problem.
