FromDC, pls provide info on Villa Montana-Ubud
Hi,
Can you tell me if the staff speak english? How is the cook at the villa? Any issue with booking the villa? Do you think is too far to get to places from the villa, The picutres seem very nice? Is the bed comfortable to sleep on? What is all included for breakfast? Anything regards to the staff, and the villa that you can share with me would be greatly appreciate it. Would you stay at the villa again or rather stay at the resort/hotel? Thank you.

Clear,
I am writing this from a layover in Korea as we embark on a 5 week trip to SEAsia. So I will try to answer all your questions but unfortunately I can't access any photos from my laptop.
The staff were wonderful and the manager spoke very good English (his name is Panday). The cook and maids spoke a little, enough to get by. The cook did well for breakfasts, not so great for the dinner we had her cook but we mostly ordered from restaurants and had Panday or one of the other staff members pick it up for us. The beds were very very comfortable and the place was gorgeous. It is about 45 minutes from Ubud so if you are going sightseeing every day in that direction, it adds alot of time in the car - - that was the main drawback.
Now one thing you need to know. When we were there, the place was sold to new owners (literally, in the middle of our trip). It didn't affect us at all, it won't affect how beautiful the place is, but the staff might be different so my comments on them may not be accurate. Please keep asking any questions you might have and I will be happy to answer them. We really loved the villa altho next time we would stay closer to Ubud. However, I do not regret staying there AT ALL.

Hi From DC,
Thank you for taking the time, We will be in Bali for 7 nights and already have Putu driver to show us around from 11/21 to 23. As you mentioned, it is 45 min from ubud itself so that add 2 hrs driving just to leave and come back to the villa. I am debating due to the distance from town. Have you stayed anywhere else beside villa Montana?
How are the roads in Bali? I have too many options and i cant make up my mind. Chedi club, FS Sanyan, The Legian, Ritz, Uma Ubud, Kayumanis Ubud, Royal Pita Maha and etc. I read many reviews and My husband says I am a psycho lol. BTW: the staff is the same staff (Travel agent told me), I do love the place, it seem soo peaceful. Did you get any massage at the villa? What types of food did u get for breakfast since it was included in the villa rate.
So are the staff there all the time each day? What time do they come and leave? Did you do a lot of sightseeing? Did you use one of their driver for sightseeing? Travel agent told me that Panday will go with us for sightseeing. Are there fruit trees at the villa? I am all about good food and staying at the nice place so i need to decide, any advice you can give would be greatly appreciate it.

The staff have a separate little house on the property, so they are not there constantly. Breakfast was fruit and cereal, not as good as a hotel. I have a feeling that we didn't have the regular cook because the place was sold but if it is the same cook, don't go there expecting great food. Panday did not come with us on any excursions. If you have Putu, you won't need him. I did n't see any fruit trees on the property, we bought all the food at the market with our driver coming along. It is very very peaceful and if that is the main thing for you, I can recommend the villa. But if you want to be closer to Ubud, I would recommend an upscale hotel on the Sayan ridge. We also stayed in Seminyak at the Oberoi for 2 nights
