Wow...that's really nice of you to be thinking of us. Thank you!
My father will have surgery on Monday to remove his prostate. We are hoping it is uneventful and that are no surprises, and if so, surgery will be the only treatment required. If everything goes as planned, we leave for Bangkok on the 23rd.

My father's surgery is now finished...what a relief. They didn't find any cancer in his lymph nodes which is very good indeed. We'll have a complete pathology report next week but the doctor said she feels like the cancer was contained in his prostate and hadn't spread anywhere else. I'm very happy about that and I'm sure he is too. Thank you all for your good wishes.

Kim, I have not been on Fodors for a while. (not good source for Brazil) Sorry to hear about your father's problem. Glad to hear that things went well and cancer contained. I guess they will follow-up with radiation and/or chemo just to be sure or maybe no follow-up necessary. We are leaving tomorrow for Brazil to meet Ellen and family. I know you will enjoy your return to Bali. Big news!!@! Ellen is getting a dog (minature Australian sheepdog) who will be with us this summer. So when you visit we will have an added attraction. As soon as you know...send on your summer schedule. Love to all. Elaine
