Final honeymoon dinner - Bangkok or Singapore

I am struggling to make a decision about whether or not to fly back to Singapore early enough for dinner the night before we fly back to the states. Our flight is at 9:30 am on Sunday so we will have to fly in from BKK on Saturday night, but I'm trying to decide if we should stay and have our final dinner in Bangkok or if the great restaurants in Singapore are worth the trek back early enough to get get checked into the hotel and go get dinner?

We are only spending Thursday Friday and Saturday in Bangkok, so I feel like if we leave Saturday afternoon we will miss a chunk of our time there just to have dinner in Singapore - but I've read that the restaurants are spectacular in Singapore - so I just don't know!

This is our first time to Asia - so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

hard choice....maybe the kind of food you want would help make the decision??

it probably would be cheaper in bangkok for just as good quality...

what places were you thinking to go to in each city?

There are fabulous restaurants and fabulous food in both places. Bangkok will be less expensive for top flight food than Singapore is.

... Greetings and congrats on the forthcoming 'BKK-SIN' honeymooon ... (something the mrs. and I did back in Sept. '06. If so inclined, more details can be found by searching 'macintosh' over on the Thailand side of tripadvisor.)

One thought: after you and your beloved check out of the Bangkok Oriental/Peninsula (our two Bangkok honeymoon hotels ... 'btw' the Oriental does put on a fine "Authors' Lounge" marriage ceremony / reception / fireworks production ... do remember your chequebooks), well do consider flying Singapore Airlines First from BKK to SIN. ... (Sorry for yet another shameless plug for mrs. m's airline --- but all of you out there know you want SQ F - and for some of you, those Girls.)

As for the 'final dinner', well, we never quite made it out of the confines of our final Asian honeymoon spot, the Singapore Four Seasons. (Enormous sentimental reasons for that choice of hotel; our 'first' SIN spot - after 36,000 feet on SQ - and my current favourite SIN business travel hotel.)

... Savour your tender Thai / Singaporean honeymoon times ... perhaps, with that special Asian airline ...

... gentle hostess, in your sarong, you care for me, as only you know how ...

I think the restaurants in either would be fine. The problem I am having with your question is that while I don’t know what airline you are flying, I think that the last flights out of Bangkok to Singapore leave between 8 - 9 pm, so I don’t see how you would be able to fit in a dinner in Bangkok in any event, as you would have to leave for the airport at like 5 - 6 pm on Saturday.

I also agree that if you leave early in the day on Saturday just to get back to Singapore in time for dinner, you are cutting off time in Bangkok when you have little enough time to begin with. (Look at the flight times and you may not like them as they may cut off a good part of the day.) Personally, if this were my trip, I would take the 8 pm flight back from Bangkok and have a late dinner in Singapore at no particular place (but they do serve late in many places, and hawker stalls are open until the wee hours) or even room service, and not try to make a big dinner production by sacrificing time in Bangkok.

Is there really no way for you to return home from Bangkok on that Sunday? Can you change your international flight to go out of Bangkok? Can you move your flight from Singapore to Monday and give yourself one more day in Bangkok?
