Fantastic english speaking guide for saigon and other areas

THIS IS NOT AN AD...

karen and i had a fabulous guide today who we hired through Come & Go vietnam (www.comeandgovietnam.com or [email protected] )....

she is also available on a free lance basis by contacting her directly... her name is: Ms Nguyen Ngoc Hieu. She is in her mid-20's, very well spoken in english, funny and current.

[email protected]

she goes by the name of mango

She provided us with a complete tour of all the major saigon sites in a full day outing...
She also gave us ideas for other things to do here and the names of restaurants we might like...

examples of her pricing, based on two people, per person are:

$49 for a full day in saigon inclusive of everything, including lunch... private driver

$96 for an 8-6:30 delta tour also inclusive

that is per person...

we paid $82 for our day tour with come and go, excluding lunch...

btw, we had a delicious lunch 3 doors down from the side entrance to the war remnants museum at Pho Xua, 11B le quy don st, dist. 3... viet foods

Bob, Give us some details about your time in Saigon, and I'm really eager to hear about the Mekong. Your other thread has been hijacked...

So the private guide is charging more on a freelance basis then she did as a guide for the agency? ($98 for two people for a day in Saigon? Yikes!)) Good for her.

As opposed to $82 for her services with the agency? (Double yike!)

I am not counting lunch because that is so inexpensive....

Thanks for the tip.

I read it carefully when you first posted. I still find it surprising that a freelancer is charging more than booking via the agency with which she often works. I understand the price differential of the lunch. Where did you eat lunch?

Bob, we'll only be in Saigon for a day and a half (we'll skip the Mekong Delta on this trip). So you'd recommend an all-day tour with Mango on the full day?

Gee Bob, my first reaction was to make a joke about this thread being just another spam post but you STOLE MY THUNDER with your "THIS IS NOT AN AD" at the onset.

Glad you had a good day...

there is not that much to do or see here so a full day is perfect for the highlights...
