Grand sumo tournaments are held in odd-numbered months starting on the first Sunday and running for 15 days, through the third Sunday. The January, May, and September tournaments are held in Tokyo, March in Osaka, July in Nagoya, and November in Fukuoka. Matches are held during the day, maybe starting in the morning, with the better matches from 2-4PM and the best matches from 4-6PM.
There are stables in cities across Japan, and I have read about visiting the sumo stables in Tokyo. I doubt very much that there is any kind of sumo in Narita.

Narita does have a sumo field as a part of city sports ground but I suppose the place is mostly for amateurs while you might want to see professional sumo tournament (Oo-Zumo = Grand Sumo). It should hold tournaments however once in a while but I haven't found it's calendar.
Feasible? Not likely for just a layover time unless there is a tournament really by chance while you are there. Or you might be able to see some amateurs (school and adult clubs) trainning. Would you want it?
