Designer shopping in Rajasthan
I met an American couple today here in Udaipur who wish to know of the shop in Rajasthan that sells designer wares at throwaway prices. I remember reading about it here on Fodors (perhaps Cicerone or BostonHarbor had a post about it awhile back). Can anyone refresh please?

Hello Agtoau,
The shop in Jodhpur is Maharani Arts Emporium in the main market (there is only one major market place in Jodhpur). It is on the left hand side of the street about five "blocks" from the entry gate.
The shop looks tacky on the first floor (wooden statues etc). The good stuff is on the third floor (rickety steps). Gorgeous bedspreads, shawls and fabrics.
Hope you are throughly enjoying Udaipur. I'm jealous!

Thank you, Patricia. I conveyed your response to the couple - don't know if it got to them in time.
Udaipur was lovely. I shall let the pictures speak for themselves -

I, too, will be at the Udaivilas -- but not until March 1. These photographs are so good that it almost makes me embarrassed to bring my camera but I know I won't be able to help myself. Do you have any other photos which you can share? I also really like the website for the photos is set up; it may be the best I've seen because it is so navigable AND gives so much information about each shot. Please, please share more.

Mediatorr,
I have many, many pictures that are yet to be processed (I shoot in RAW format). It will take a a while to get to them.
Rajasthan (and India, in general) is a photographer's pastureland. Regardless of your skill level and equipment, I am sure you will find fulfilling the experience of capturing a composition.
As for the gallery itself - I downloaded the software from http://jalbum.net. It is available for free and is the work of a generous Swedish fellow called David Ekholm, who was fed up with all the existing commercial solutions. The JAlbum is highly customisable.
I had recently posted a short gallery of my visit to Agra. Here is the link, again -
