Daylight and Tides for Hiroshima on April 22, 2005
Hi all,
I am in the final planning stage for April trip. Husband wants to see the "A Dome" in Hiroshima. So this will be a day trip from Kyoto for us. So he will get his ride on the Nozomi. I was even thinking about an early dinner in Hiroshima. Anything good around the station or Museum area?
After reading the post on this subject, I think the trip is very doable for us. Neither of us have much interest in the Museum and do not plan on much time in this area, just want to see it. We have been to the Museum in Nagasaki.
We both do want to go to Miyajima, but want to go when the tide is up, if possible. So I am working on the order of the train rides, sites, etc.
Actually was thinking Miyajima in the late afternoon would be ideal for us if the tide is in. Can someone tell me the low and high tide times for that day? Also (~)when is sun rise - set at that time?
Thanks so much!

Just use the chart for Hiroshima...it can't vary by more than a few minutes. http://tbone.biol.sc.edu/tide/tidesh...osima%2C+Japan
Just follow the instructions on the page to get a tide prediction.

The spelling on the tide predictor is a bit off. Hiroshima is spelled Hirosima.
"Itukusima, Hirosima" would probably be the more accurate table to use. But if your interest is in getting a shot of the torii at Itsukushima shrine standing in water, then Kim is right that it won't make much difference. Good thinking about the tides.

Hi,
Thanks for the spelling tip. I had actually looked at that one, but didn't think it was right. This may sound dumb, but will there be much difference between today and 4 weeks from how?
Looks like we want to go there as soon as we get to Hiroshima that morning for the most water.
Though the tide is rising again around sun set. Wonder if there would be enough tide for the gate to look like it is floating? Several posters have said later afternoon to sun set is a very good time to see the gate and Temple areas. There is so much, it is hard to figure out what to do! My husband just keeps saying no Temple overload please! Remember Europe and churches-just pick a few really nice places!!!! Well, they all sound nice and the pictures are not helping!
Thanks again!
I read that there is still construction. Wonder if this will mess up the view?

A month from now will be different. You can get any day you want by just plugging in the day you are interested in in the date section you see when you scroll down, then click the "make prediction using options" button to get the result. On April 22 high tide will be 8:36 in the morning and 8:53 at night.
