could any one tell me how far the airport is from the galare guest house in chaing-mai...and about how long it takes to get there...thank you

The airport is not far from anything - about 10 - 15 minutes from downtown, night market etc.

Hey Steve....when are you going? We tossed back and forth between the Galare and the RiverView, finally deciding on the RiverView. Let us know how you liked the area - they're basically next door to each other. I know most Fodorites stay at the luxe hotels in ChiangMai, but after splurging in BKK, we thought we'd stay someplace small and comfy in ChiangMai. carol

OK. Small and comfy and cheap(er).

I stayed at the Galare guest house and took a taxi from the airport. It was less than 30 minutes. As for the taxi price,if you want it,let me know and I'll look it up in my travel journal. Happy Travels!

Ill be at the galare guest house on jan 7 for 4 nights,picked this one for the price and I know somebody who stayed there..trying to keep prices moderate for Ill be in asia for two months...will let you know when I return in March...thank you all for your help
