burma plan
Myanmar Shalom has helped me with our plan for Burma this December:
Fly into RGN arriving at 0835A and immediately fly to Bagan the same day.
Three nights at Therabar Gate hotel.
Fly to Heho
Three nights where I will try for the Princess Garden hotel. They are recommending Myanmar Treasure.
Fly to RGN and one night at the Trader Hotel leave the next day at 1930P.
Any opinions on the Trader Hotel or the plan in general?

jannnan, I have the same question about Inle Lake as the Myanmar Treaure along with the Inle Princess resort have been offered to us. The review on the Myanmar Treasure didn't do much for me, but then none of the hotel reviews are giving me a warm fuzzy feeling.
We are planning nearly the same itinerary except with less time in Bagan and Inle Lake, but a night in Mandalay, where we fly into to begin two nights on the Paukan 1947, getting off in Bagan on to Inle Lake and then back to Rangoon for one night before leaving. We are going next March with Myanmar Shalom. So will be eager to hear how your trips goes.
Kathie what is you objection to the Myanmar Treasure.
I will have to look at Traders, as I told Myanmar Shalom we wanted to stay at The Strand from the very beginning, so that is what is in the itinerary.

Let me say that we loved the Inle Lake View. The woman who owns it has really invested in the community, offering training, employing local people to how organic vegetables she serves, etc. The Inle Princess is owned by a man who has also invested in the local community.
All of the places named "Treasure" are owned by one of the generals. I tried not to stay at places owned directly by the generals.
The Strand is really lovely - but it isn't easy to get reservations.
