BKK soi 11 internet cafes
I'm sure one or more of my fodorite friends can answer this question for me. I'm traveling to BKK in late August/early Sept and will be spending a portion of my trip on soi 11, probably at Grand President. I am also staying at "Bob's place".. the Marriott on the river.
I'm considering NOT taking my laptop on this very quick trip. This is a first for me, as I always travel with my laptop. I'm just trying to lighten my load a bit, since I'm going to be traveling solo on this trip.
I'm wondering about internet cafes on soi 11. Does anyone have any information about this? Preferably close to Grand President.
Thanks.
Carol
(BTW, khun Ming's new place is in an alley on soi 11, across the street from Grand President... I'm looking forward to her chili and garlic shrimp!! YUMMM!!! Those of you who have been reading my posts in the past know about Ming, and the Brunswick on soi 4, which is now closed)

i'm sure ming will direct you...there should be several in that area....i'm sure you know the one on soi 4, sukhumvit down on the right about 1/2 block...
also at the marriott...come out of the drive and turn right....walk about a block....pass the little laundry and you will see flip flops on the pavement....this is a great internet place....25B per hour and decent computers...there is a small sign over the sidewalk that says "internet" also...very nice mom and pop shop...

carol; the internet cafe i use when i stay at the ambassador is the one located in the arcade in front of the hotel. you walk through the arcade to get to the hotel. theres a new indian restauant in front of the arcade just on soi 11. its 1b per min.(such a deal).
i think soi 11 is a great location to stay. they have great restaurants, jazz music, good food, many massage places, two 7-11s, great street food, a seamstress on the street that hems my pants, and even a dentist r us(like a jiffy lube for dental care).
mahalo for the info on khun ming. i'm trying to picture the location. i wonder if its the former lemoncello location.

It's not the lemoncello place. It's a different alley from that. I'll try to give better directions when I get there. I'm anxious to see the new place.
Thanks for the information on internet, but on soi 11 and at the Marriott. I guess I CAN leave the laptop at home...
