Best suites at Anantara Golden Triangle
Ok-- you've all convinced me -- we're booking a suite. Now for those of you who have been there are there pros and cons regarding location etc. I'd like to request a specific suite or location if there are major difference. I'd like to be relatively close to the lobby/restaurants/bars unless there is a reason not to be. Don't care at all about the swimming pool since I know I will not be in it.
Thanks

We had a suite on the Burma side vs. Laos side. The rooms on this side are closer to the lobby & restaurant and provide views of the rice paddies. We initially were on the Laos side, which is closer to the pool. The views were somewhat obstructed by foliage. Also, some rooms on the Laos side are way up the hill and are quite a trek from the lobby, etc. At night, it can be difficult to navigate since you are walking by torchlight. I think we had room #231. You will not be disappointed with the suite!

We have the same story as MPT. Originally were on Laos side (less sunny, an uphill schlep). Switched after one day to Burma side. Ended up in #331,(right above MPT's room), which we loved. Extra flight up, but higher ceilings.

Thanks, all. I booked a suite directly with the hotel -- same rate as SLH. I am now negotiating the suite #-- 231 has a king bed and I'd prefer two beds. But have told him that if they don't have a two bedded suite on the burma side on either the 231 or 331 floors I would go with the king. Has anyone stayed in suites with two beds that they liked?
