Bangkok;:Taxi Fare from Airport to Hotel

I've sent an email to the Banyan Tree Bangkok hotel, but not heard back from them.

Anybody know if they have a shuttle service?

How much a taxi would cost? The Bayan Tree is in the Embassy/Financial district at 21/100 South Sathorn Road, Sathorn, Bangkok 10120

Any tips or cautions on taking a taxi?

The Banyan Tree wouldn't have a shuttle service (only those few places right next to the airport run free shuttles). The Banyan Tree would be willing, I'm sure to send a hotel car for you at a high price. Taxi fare from the airport to a hotel will be about 350 baht plus tolls of another 60 baht. When they ask you if yu want to take the toll road, the correct answer is always "yes!" So a regular taxi (just join the taxi line) will cost you about US$10. I always take one of the limo services, as I travel with lots of luggage. The Limo services use Mercedes or Volvo sedans. The cost for the Limo services is about 800 baht plus tolls (US $20). Ther are a number of Limo services with stands just outside of customs.

may i suggest that if you are coming from usa and i think you are that you take the limo on your first arrival...you will be dead and it all will be so odd for you, plus they will know just where to go with no hastle, and about 50% of the time or more you get a hastle in the taxi... best 860 B you will spend on the trip..

there are not shuttle services

Mercedes Vito (Van) - 800 Baht

From the counter on Terminal 1 (first floor)

Which of the Limo services, Ben? Typically, I take a Mercedes sedan, but last trip, we got the Mercedes van when we had all of our luggage returning to the aiport at the end of our trip. That was great! It's interesting, the company you checked with didn't offer the Volvo or the Mercedes sedan... and I've never seen one offering the Camry...

(Northshore, there are lots of different Limo services; Thai is the most expensive.)

this would be the counter closest to the exit (where the family/friends are waiting for people arriving) inside the terminal, just before going out to the Taxi eaiting line.
I'm not sure if they offer also a Mercedes sedan (i believe they do). i just spend some time over there, waiting to someone coming to visit me and the flight was delayed, so i saw the signs with the prices...
(like all of us always read the components on the toilet air spray...

Further information with specific destination and prices(click the "rate and reservation" button):

http://www.airporttaxithai.com/

There are just two companies with the right to have a booth or counter at the airport and they are Thai Airways Limo services or the Airport Taxi(above link).
