My wife and I have just spent 2 weeks in wonderful Bangkok.
Just a couple of short comments:
Hotel: We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Erawan. Superb hotel, wonderful service.
Restaurants; Erawan Tea Room sensational food. Bed Supper Club excellent. Face Excellent.
Tailor: My wife and daughter had dresses made at Cotton House. Really very impressive and the quality and dedication of Reed is second to none. Highly recommend Cotton House.
My son and I had suits and shirts made at Rajawongse (Jesse and Victor). First class service, top quality clothing. I cant speak highly enough of them. Superb!!
Wonderful 2 weeks.

No, Kristina, Cotton House does not have a website. I told Reed last year that she should do one but I don't think technology is her "thing" and she seems to be doing well without it. I've been going there for years (was a customer a week after her shop opened) and I have always been very pleased.

You can just walk in. I've had lots of pants suits for work made out of wool. cotton and silk. Some dressy outfits. Dresses. Basically my entire work and dress wardrobe as well as casual cotton and wook pants. Can't tell you how much stuff has cost since I have so much made each time. All I know is it is very cheap for the quality.

hi Kristina
We actually made an appointment which worked well. The shop had quite a few customers during the time we were there.
Prices : A little difficult to generalise. My daughter had a wonderful cocktail dress made in thai silk for approx $100 and a suit for maybe $200. It all depends on the fabric and the style. My wife had a few simple dresses made which were $60-80 and a couple of more intricate dresses which were $100 +
Whatever you pay and whatever you get you will be delighted.

I was just at the Erawan Tearoom last week and I agree that it's VERY nice. I'm so happy the renovation is finally finished on that corner. I'm here in Bangkok for three weeks...vacation...but have a serviced apartment. When I stay in hotels I stay at the Four Seasons so I know your neighborhood very well and it's my favorite part of town to stay in. As for Cotton House, I also have my clothes done there and was just there on Saturday again. They have 13 garments to do for me so I went to pay them...13,000Baht for 13 garments and they'll deliver them to me when they're finished. They did my garments in Aug,too. And yes, I agree, Bed Supper Club is excellent and I'm to go to Face this evening although I went by there yesterday to look around since it's only one skytrain stop from me. Glad you had a great time in the City of Angels! Happy Travels!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I had all of my own fabrics. I buy a lot of fabric in Singapore when I'm on vacation down there since I usually buy high quality, 100% cotton, Indonesian batiks....down on Arab Street. So, the 13,000 baht was for the sewing using my own fabrics. But, since I'm having about 10 blouses made, they will have to hand make all of those cloth,Chinese style buttons since that's the style blouses I have them make. Having to do that alone is probably worth 13,000Baht. When I was in Singapore in Aug, I went to the dressmaker and she wanted about US$80.00 to do ONE blouse and didn't want to have to hand make those buttons. Tried to talk me into her using the factory made Chinese-style buttons and clasps. I wouldn't agree to it so since I was on my way up to Bangkok anyhow, I just went to Da at Cotton House and they made the same blouse for about $29.00 WITH the hand made, cloth buttons. I took with me the blouse I had bought in Singapore, the previous summer, and had Cotton House copy it exactly. Happy Travels!
