Bangkok: Old Bangkok Inn? Davis Hotel

First of all, I apologize for reposting this. The search function does not seem to be working properly for me. I know there are several posts about the Old Bangkok but for some reason they aren't coming up when I use the search function.

I want to book my accomodations for Bangkok in Feb. We are considering the Old Bangkok Inn for 2 nights when we arrive and then the Davis Hotel for two nights before we fly out.

If you have stayed in either of these places I would love to hear about your experience there.

Thank you!

My daughter stayed at the OB Inn a couple of weeks ago. She loved the service, especially the owners son was very helpful and enthusiastic. Their room was beautiful and had free computer/internet access in the room. She said the hotel is small, but beautiful. Each room is decorated very Thai style and has a flower theme. Her's was the orchid and they filled it with orchids each day. There is no pool. She said there was some street sounds, but nothing irritating, but thought the other rooms might be a little more silent. The location was great for wandering and walking to some of the major sights nearby. Taxis were easy to find in the area.

I was at the Penninsula at the same time. She loved my room but said she really prefered the OB Inn for its charm.

Hope this helps!

I really want to check it out in January. It is literally the first hotel I have read about in Bangkok that might make me give up a few days at the Oriental.

Just got back from Thailand on 09/06. My wife and I stayed at the Old Bankok Inn for our last day. The rooms were small but beautiful. OBI has a special charm to it.

I emaile the hotel to check about availability so if they have space I will book a room and report back. My trip isn't until Feb.

Cheers!

I am excited to say that I have heard back from the Old Bangkok Inn and they have all of their rooms available at this time so I can choose whichever one I want!

Can anyone recommend a room? I see that they have 8 rooms but only 4 show up on their website.

Thanks!
