Bangkok - Hilton Millenium or Conrad Bangkok?

Hey Folks

I'm going to Bangkok with my soon to be wife in June. This is our first time ever in Thailand and we're trying to figure out which hotel to book. Yes bad timing (I know) but hoping the violence ends .. but anyways I got a tonne of points and cant decide which hotel between the Millenium and the Conrad Bangkok to book

We're going for 4 nights and hope to visit most of the tourist locations plus shop as well as eat the fine cuisines...what might be best for our needs

I'd stay at the Millenium. There is nothing like being right there on the river!

I completely agree with Kathie. There is nothing like staying on the river. Looking out your window and seeing the river traffic wander by is unique. The Conrad is very nice. Even if you don't stay there, you should go there for lunch and have Dim Sum in the Chinese restaurant. It's wonderful.

i too prefer the river, but the conrad is the nicer hotel really.... both are newish so up to date, but being on the river is the best experience...

i am sure the trouble will be over by then, but i would point out that the conrad is just down the road from where the current problems are, so an area to avoid...

We are Hilton Honors members & stayed at the Millenium at both ends of our trip. They upgraded us to a suite upon arrival. Our last night there we just got a room-I was sooooooo spoiled I said I'll pay for the suite-it was only 20$ more per night-but worth it. I would choose Millenium again.Chris

We stayed at the Conrad in August and really liked the hotel. The Club is especially nice.
You do miss the River but closer to more shopping.
