There a great number of choices of accommodations at the Regent, I would try for a chalet but it's more than the other buildings I think. Fine hotel with plenty of facilities, beach is a little narrow at high tide but that does not worth worrying about. Only trouble we had was that they do not allow taxis or tuktuks to pick up passengers so you have to walk outside the hotel grounds, they can drop you back, they try and make you use their own transport, I was more than 'firm' that it was my choice how I travelled and not the hotel's, within 5 minutes a tuktuk was there to take us into Hua Hin. Be firm!

We stayed at the Regent last November and enjoyed our visit very much. I agree that it is quite a way into the town of Hua Hin but not a distance that would be a problem. We used a local company for our booking and the rate was quite good

http://r24.org/huahin.20m.com/huahin/hotels

Regent is nice, about 15 minutes into Hua Hin. Don't miss the weekend market (Thur thru Sun) at Grand Plaza, it's about 5 minutes walk from center of town, much much better than the night market in the center of town which is more expensive and little choice. Walk to the left from the main lobby about 150 yards and you will find local taxis, quicker and more covenient than the hotel's shuttle and just as cheap.
