I am beyond keen on Keens. I love them. Probably because I have wide feet. I wore them every day for 2 weeks in Guatemala. I wear them in the winter with socks. You can put them in the washing machine (air dry them) when they get funky. My dentist wore them all over Italy. I have 3 different pairs now. I went to a Keen company party once and that's where I found out that you can throw the sandals in the washer.

I too, absolutely love Keens (again someone that has wide feet. I have a pair of Targhees which take a while to loosen up but once broken in are extremely comfortable. One gripe that I have is that I have had to send two pairs back because the seam on the iside of the heel has split - maybe a design fault (either with the shoes or my feet!). that aside they are by far the most comfortable shoes I possess.

I also have pair of the Newport sandals wih the closed toe design which are perfect for the tropics.

The main criticism I have with Keen is that they are expensive here in the UK at around £80 per pair ($160 US).

I bought a pair of Keen sandals for my asia trip last year. I actually ended up wearing my dansko sandals more on the trip but I do like the keens.

I also recently bought a pair of keens ballet flat style shoes. They are a great travel item because they look cute with a skirt or pants for the evenings, but are great walking shoes.

I like my Keen Newport H20's, but they are heavy and they do get stinky. Throw them in the wash and it will go away, but the stink will come back. The toe protection is the major benefit, otherwise I prefer my NIKE Air Deschutz.
