About to book hotels - itinerary input (last chance!)
Thanks ahead of time for the help planning thus far. Here's what I tentatively have...I'm looking for positive feedback/reassurance before I actually pay the deposit on the hotel reservations.
A little background, this is our first trip to Thailand, my husband and I have been looking forward to this for years. We'll be meeting up with my parents, who will be rounding off their trip of HK and Thailand when we arrive.
Nov 15: Arrive in BKK (am)
Accommodations at the Penninsula
Nov 16: Fly to Phuket
Accommodations at

Oops, wrong button. But to continue...
Nov 16-20: Phuket Le Meridian, Relax Bay
Nov 20-23: Sawasdee Village, Karon Beach
Nov 23-26: Khao Lak, Similana Resort
Fly to Bangkok
Nov 26-Dec 1: Bangkok, Majestic Grande
We'll be at some more $$ places for hotel when traveling with my parents. After that, husband and I are free to downgrade
We know we are hitting the beach areas pretty hard, but we are beach people, so it's a conscious decision.
Thanks for any additional assistance!

Those are fine, you will love Meridien relax bay, between Patong and Karon it's in it's very own cove, only down side is it's a long way to main road so you have to use transport, Sawasdee Village I haven't see as it's quite new, any reason for changing from Meridien to Sawasdee Village? , it it just cost? Khao lak of course is very quiet compared with Phuket. I lived on Phuket many years and go down every few months, ask anything more if you need.

Lost that post again!
Another try: I haven't been in Sawasdee but know the street as they has a guesthouse there before, I guess you know it's not on the beach(?), busy street up, you go down to another road which runs behind the Club Med and then go left and then past Club Med and others to get to the beach,it's on a busy road area and a fair way to the beach.

What about Kata or Kata Noi beach? The Kata Thani on Kata Noi is a wonderful resort. Mom Tri's Boathouse on Kata beach is very nice as well. Both are right on the beach. Two of the best restaurants on Phuket are right there. Mom Tri's Boathouse Grill is a the Boathouse, and Mom Tri's Kitchen is at their Villa Royale property, which sits on the rocks between Kata and Kata Noi. FABULOUS!!

Thanks for the input. The reason for the change in Phuket accommodations is price (my parents leave) and my husband and I have a preference for less "big box" accommodations. Since we are planning on moving anyway, and because we will be heading to Khao Lak to stay on the beach, we are okay not being right on it at Sawasdee Village. Also, we figure the Village will put us closer distance to restaurants/town, unlike Le Meridian. I'll look into Kata Thani and Kata Noi resorts also, as being on a "busy road" is not exactly what I had in mind. Mom's Tri looks to be much more expensive than Sawasdee Village but we will definitely try to go for a great meal.
We are hoping Khao Lak is very quiet! Looking to beach comb and relax.
Bob, I'm watching that post to see if a late November GTG is scheduled.
Thanks all--additional input is welcome and appreciated!
