5 Must see/do things in Ko Samui

Hi! I’m on my way to Ko Samui next month… Can someone tell me what is a must see/do/eat (I’m a veg) out there.. Our stay is for four days. However, we are not too much into snorkeling and diving… I guess it’s a tricky question considering I’m a veg and not into snorkeling.. But that’s why I’m relying on the experienced fodorites…

There are lots of local activities, go to sawadee.com they have lots of ideas on excursions and tours, for many renting a car.jeep and just driving around the island for a day is pleasant, you have beach of course, my trips I tend not to do sightseeing but there are certainly lots of choices. As far a Veg food is concerned Thai people east a lot of vegetarian dishes so you have absolutely not problem there unless you are, is it Vegan(?) becuae sometimes the vegs can be cooked ion same oil as meat, don't know if that's a major problem or not, many vegetariam omlets, vegetable dishes with oyster saude, also don't know what level of Vegetarian but if you eat fish you are in for a treat. The only meats normaly eaten here are Pork and Cjicken and duck, so there is always lots of Vegetarian dishes, you don't need to go to any special restaurant as almost 'all' have lists of vegetable dishes so absolutely no problem there at all.

First of all thanks James for helping me choose Ko samui.. I was absolutely confused as to where to go… places… Krabi, Langkawi, Phuket or Ko Samui. On your advice on the weather, I did circle in on Phuket (Katathani) and Ko Samui. But my husband is not at all keen on taking a chance on weather.. So we are off to Ko samui in a months time.. Yes, I am a “Pure Vegetarian”.. No eggs or Fish.. I just hope I don’t have too much problems with the food…

I am sure Anil from Bangkoks SukII Guesthouse won't mind me giving you this link, although you should have absolutely no problems whatsoever if you go to this link and print it out you can copy and print out these Thai cards

http://www.suk11.com/allergy.htm

Hope that helps but again, don't panic, plenty of pure vegetarian food
