10 days Myanmat
Hi my friend and I have 10 full days in Myanmar and are planning on going to Yangon, Bagan, and Inle. We are planning on taking buses if that is the cheapest option. Do we have time for anything else? Does anyone recommend somewhere in between Yangon and Bagan to break up the trip? Thanks!

With just 10 days, stick to Yangon, Bagan and Inle. Plan to spend as much time as possible in Bagan and Inle. No reason to try to stay somewhere between Yangon and Bagan.
If you can afford it, one flight would buy you some time.
When are you going? Be aware that prices for accommodation have tripled or more since the LP was published in Dec 2012.

SInce you will be there during high season, I'd recommend that you reserve accommodations where you can. There are many more travelers than in past years and the tourist infrastructure is stretched to its limit.

We are traveling the same time, been having a very difficult time getting accommodations in Inle lake and Bagan, also flights are tight and expensive. Good luck and maybe we will see you on the road.

At Inle, try and make it Maing Thauk village. At the end of the pier, you will find a "restaurant" called the Schwe Yee Win. The place is at end of the pier and the owner Thanda will gladly pick you up in her canoe and will also take you around the village in her canoe for a little tour. Spending time on her deck with a room temperature beer watching the floating life unfold was absolutely awesome. Flying makes a lot of sense for your short trip. The destinations are awesome, the journey on the road might be painful.

I think you could do a little more in that time, but a lot depends on how you travel. Personally, I enjoyed my couple of days in Yangon; If you only spend one day there be sure to see Scott's Market and take the circle train during the day and go to the Shwe Dagon Pagoda at dusk.
For the other towns, some of my trip reports may help: http://www.fodors.com/community/asia...ember-2012.cfm
Just a possible, based on my own trip::
Day, activity, Sleep
Day 1 Yangon
Day 2 air to Inle Lake
Day 3 Inle Lake
Day 4 Inle Lake
Day 5 bus to Kalaw
Day 6 train toThazi
Day 7 bus to Bagan/Nyaung U
Day 8 Bagan/Nyaung U
Day 9 Bagan/Nyaung U
Day 10 Fly or rail to Yangon
I'll be posting Inle lake in a day or two.
Cheers, Alan
