Which flight shoudl we take?

Okay, going to Thailand for Honeymoon.
Which flight would you take?
Northwest in Coach
Non-Stop Detroit to Tokyo
Tokyo to BKK
OR
EVA Air in Econ. Deluxe
DTW-LAX on NWA
LAX-Taipei
Taipei-BKK

Basically, I am asking is going EVA Air in Econ. Deluxe worth the extra flight segment or is coach a trade off for the quciker flight?

Thanks.

If I were flying by myself, I would take NW via Tokyo. Just want to get it over with, quick.

But on a honeymoon, I would recommend the Evergreen Deluxe class on EVA. It's 2-4-2 seating, so you can sit together all by yourself in relative comfort, so that longest leg can actually be kind of "enjoyable", which definitely won't be the case on NW's 747-400 flights.

Hard to say which is better, SQ's Exec. Econ. or EVA"s Evergreen Deluxe. But the total flight time on SQ via Singapore will be longer.

I would select another carrier in preference to NW. Have not had much luck with them.

As rkkwan says, the flight via Singapore would be longer and they only have the Executive Economy on their a 340-500's which do the ultra-long flights, you would be in normal Economy coach from Singapore ( 2 hrs 20 mins ), but if for example you were heading to Phuket and not BKK itself then Singapore is a viable alternative as it takes only 'minutes' longer from SIN to Phuket than from BKK to Phuket.

Otherwise if you are doing it Westbound then certainly I would go for EVA Air Economy de-luxe over NW normal Coach.
