what would you consider a good price to Paris

I've never traveled to Paris before, and it's been many yrs. since even traveling elsewhere in Europe, so I don't have a clue what would be considered a good fare.

Right now I'm seeing fares that are a little over 1100 for non stop round trip from Phila., and 763 for one stop round trip from NY. But I've no idea if those are the kind of fares to grab or to wait for them to come down.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Laura

Oh, and I forgot to say, we'll be traveling from early to mid May.

I'm from the West coast and paid around $980 for a one stop round trip to Germany and about the same price for Paris two years ago in May. I say go with the $763.

You won't find fares significantly lower than $763, but it's not non-stop and not from Philly. I would check fares regularly and wait for PHL non-stop around $900. You have time to wait, at least till around Feb. Consider alternatives then, not now.

These fares are true, but you can wait for some time.

Anything around $800 is an excellent fare for May. Given the fees and taxis, it's difficult to find anything lower, even for the off-season. It's possible you could find something in the $700 range, but I don't think that will apply from Philadelphia. One note: If you fly from Philly, it's likely going to be on USAirways. For me, it would be worth going to EWR to find other airline options. You can get there directly on Amtrak if you don't want to drive.

Thanks for the feedback, all. I think I'll wait a little and see if the Phila. non-stop, which would be my preference, comes down a little. I don't think the flight from Philly was USAirways but I'm definitely going to check as I can't stand them. Is AirFrance pretty good?

Then again, we're traveling with people from CT and haven't yet discussed if we'll try to fly together or not. If we do decide to, then EWR might make good sense.

Delta flies nonstop from PHL and PIT to CDG seasonally from those cities-Air France gave them the routes.

Indeed, DL's PHL-CDG is seasonal. I am seeing a 757 on this route in May. US's 330 will be more comfortable.

thanks again...rkkwan, you're seeing a 757 on this route in May on DL? I'm not seeing that yet. And did you mean, the US 330 will be more comfortable than the DL flight?

Yes, that's what I am seeing and yes, a US 330 will be more comfortable. Though at least DL is using a 757 version with AVOD in every seat.
