UA DEQM ticketing exception offer code MPW999

There is a new Mileage Plus offer that grants an exception to the ticket restrictions imposed by the double EQM offer! Basically, you have to register for offer code MPW999.

Here are details and discussion at flyertalk: http://tinyurl.com/d73dnr

Didn't want this good news to get lost in the other DEQM thread. Wish I could contact ms_go in Japan, but sounds like she doesn't really need the bonus.

Many thanks for the post. (And yes, rumours were true, UA was receiving a 'bit' of heat to change a certain restriction.) Keeps this 1K business traveller happy. (Although, remain a SQ PPS loyalist : Singapore Girl(s), Forever.)

Would suggest 'cashing in' with UA, all the way, to sweet SIN, then a few joyous days and nights of in-room 'massage treatments' at the Four Seasons, followed by SQ J to Bangkok and the all-time cherished 'Thai threesomes'. (Pre mrs. m era, to be sure.)

Savour your UA DEQMs ... (perhaps, with lovely Asian women) ...

... it's time to fly ...

Whoo-hoo! Just registered for the exemption following the directions on FlyerTalk and will now get DEQM for at least a few of my flights on my upcoming RTW trip. Unfortunately, they're the shortest flights.

Oh well...

Thanks for posting this mrwunrfl!

Thanks mrwunrfl. I did get registered for it before we left. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get from 1P to 1K this year; I'd have to add something big before June 15 and not sure if I have the time (but I may try!). But, getting DEQMs for our current trip almost certainly will get my husband and daughter to Prem Exec this year (I registered them, too).

Good to hear that this helped. The original offer was incentive to buy tickets. But this rule exception means that some people won't be buying tickets. I had a res on hold to for LAX-SFO-BOS for ~13,126 EQMs (including 310 RDMs for booking the $310 ticket at united dot com with an MP Visa).

Might still book it, because it coincides with a triple-RDM offer for California-Boston travel. With the 100% Premier Exec bonus the trip would earn about 24,252 redeemable miles (or maybe 26,252 if the LAX-SFO-LAX legs are tripled along with SFO-BOS-SFO). 1.18 cents-per-mile! With the bonus of visiting my nephew and his darling wife.

Thanks mrwunrfl!

I just registered for this promotion. Yes, you are right that the intent of the original promotion was to entice additional ticket sales, but I was more than slightly irritated that my two roundtrips were purchased before the promotion. So, thanks again. My trips are to LHR and to BOS, which both have current promotions. Any word on any ticketing exceptions for these (or other) promotions?

Thanks again.

misterfuss, I don't know about any other ticketing exceptions offers and doubt that there are any. The other promotions are just not as popular. You could take a look in the United forum at flyertalk. I went there the other day specifically to find out more about the DEQM offer and wasn't too surprised that the conditions had changed again.

You should sign up for the LHR and BOS offers even if you don't qualify based on ticketing date. It can't hurt. I sign up for everything. I'd register for the BOS offer even with a K or L booking class though those are excluded from the offer.
