Travel back to US from Prague
I see a lot of information about customs/immigration going into Prague through various other EU airports, but I am wondering about when I head home. I will be leaving Prague and traveling to Amsterdam where I will board a flight for the US. How much time will I need to allow before my 7 a.m. flight out of Prague to Amsterdam? Will I need to clear immigration and customs in Prague prior to my flight? Should I consider trying to transfer to a later flight?

Why? Do you have several hours to wait at AMS. If so then consider it - unless you are flying on separate ticket in which case it would be foolish to do as it increases your chances of missing your flight home at which point your only option will be to buy a new ticket at last minute prices

I'm also confused about why you would want a later flight. I don't like getting up so early but I still prefer early morning flights because IMO they are more practical. Most airports are a lot less crowded at that hour and early flights are not as likely to be delayed due to less air traffic going out/into the airport.

I think the OP may be worried about clearing immigration and customs before boarding when departing Prague: <i>"Will I need to clear immigration and customs in Prague prior to my flight? Should I consider trying to transfer to a later flight?"</i>
The answer to your question, TisaMarisa, is no, you will not need to plan extra time for either customs or immigration on departure.
