Tap Air Portugal

Will be flying on a Tap Air Portugal plane that will be an Airbus A340 or A310. Does anyone know what the seating configuration is? I can not find a seating arrangement on their website.

austine.....The only way to get seat assignments is to call, as best I can determine. But here is the cabin of the A310....coach is 2 x 4 x 2 with seats beginning Row 12(Exit) then to Row 16.Picks up at Row 20 thru Row 24.At Row 26,we are getting towards the rear of the plane, thus seating is 2 x 3 x 2 thru Row 29.Rows 30- 31 are 3 middle seats only.Hope that helps.......S

When we were in Portugal, we were told that TAP stands for Take Another Plane.

Our flight from JFK to Lisbon on TAP was quite enjoyable with good service and friendly flight attendants. Coming back was 5 days post 9/11 and I don't remember much.

Having flown TAP numerous times including JFK to Lisbon I'd say they are the best company serving Lisbon direct from the US. Definately beat Continental's service. TAP isn't as good as Virgin Trans Atlantic to be sure, but having flown companies such as US AIrways, Delta, Northwest, BA, Lufthansa and Aer Lingus, I can't say TAP is worse. The entertainment system isn't the best (no seat back screens). For flights within Europe TAP totally outperformed BA, BMI, KLM, and Lufthansa (at least in economy).

I have to say that within Europe TAP is very basic and more like a budget airline with staff who could not care a damm - Thats in Business - must be grim in economy

I fly TAP a lot because it is the only company that flies direct to Europe from the city I live (Salvador, Bahia, in Northeast Brazil). The food is OK, their seats in coach are bigger than Lufthansa's, but their on flight staff leaves a lot to be desired.
