TAP Air portugal

This airline has very skimpy info on it when you use google ...

That said I am looking for the following info:
- do they have an economy plus or premium econonmy for UA premier execs?
- how is their coach in general
- I am 6'2" and can fly via LHR via UAL and shorten the TAP exposure if bad, but the flight is longer ... good leg room for 8-10 hours is better than poor legrom and a shorter flight
- how are there amenities in economy? drinks, entertainment, etc.

thanks

My PIL have flown TAP from Sao Paulo to Lisbon and from there to Frankfurt.

They flew business class and they say it was the worst flight experience they ever had (and FIL is 82 and used to be a Frequent Flyer for decades) both airborne and on ground. Service was catastrophic, seats were broken, flight was heavily delayed, ground service did not work, they were herded like cattle - finally they arrived 6 hours late.

Whatever you do, DO NOT order a Seafood special meal! I ended up in the hospital after my flight!

I am told that TAP stands for Take Another Plane.

I have to say that I'm really surprised at the responses! Sounds like TAP = Alitalia = Olympic.

No airline I've checked at the site below has great reviews, but TAP does not sound particularly bad, considering the strong complaining tendencies of that site:

I received some opinions and avoided them for the long haul over the Atlantic.

That said and in the interest of fairness, I took a short hop (2:30) from LHR to LIS and the flight was FINE. The service people (ground and in the air) were great. The lady at check-in noticed my height (6'2&quot and gave me the exit row. The small sandwich was actually quite good.

They do not have any sort of premium economy and passing the "executive seats" it seems like you don't get much, granted this was for a short haul on an A320.

In short, I would avoid them for long haul, but not hesitate for intra-EU short flights.
