Nervous over Delta flights!

Any thoughts on how likely it is that Delta will strike before December 17th. Is it likely that the judge will wait 30 days before she gives her ruling? I'm watching this closely as we are leaving for our first overseas trip to Italy on Dec. 7th, coming home on the Dec. 16th.

The judge should give her ruling this week. There's still a 30-day cooldown period, so you're safe.

It was my understanding that the judge would rule on Nov 28.

Hi all,

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am also nerous about Delta.

We are planning a Fall Foliage visit to New England in Oct, 2006.

Will Delta still be flying?

They have the only nonstop between ATL/BTV.

It's also the cheapest - $268.

ira - Nobody knows. I wouldn't recommend booking this far ahead on any airline, period.

Hi rk,

Usually, I wouldn't book this far ahead, but there is only one nonstop per day and the price has dropped from 325 to 268.

Do you really want to take a chance and book this? If they stopped flying, then you basically have to beg the other airlines to let you on. Or if they may cancel this non-stop - who knows. At least in that case, you can ask for money back if you don't want to connect.

Ira-keep in mind how many YEARS United has been in bankruptcy along with all the others like Continental which has (I believe) been in bankruptcy twice and US Airways?

Ira, this is a great air fare. I would grab it, then stop visiting this board, or at least rading about Delta's problems. Meanwhile focus on itinerary for your upcoming trip. If you need any suggestion on what route to take please ask. What are the dates of your trip?

One word for those who think a large US airline cannot fail:

Eastern
