Flying United business class Milan to San Francisco. The first leg is Milan to Zurich on Swiss and is an Embraer 190. As I recall, the 190 has very limited room in the overhead bins. We are using carry-on bags and would like to have them for the second leg from Zurich to San Francisco. Does anyone know if Swiss will allow us to gate check the bags, so we don't have to go to baggage claim and re-enter security in Zurich? It's a short layover. Thanks.
