Lufthansa orderes 20 747-8 Passenger version
I have to say I didn't see this coming. First major airline to order the 747-8 Passenger model. From an airline that hasn't bought a Boeing for years, and one of few major airlines in the world that don't fly a 777:

rkkwan - I didn't either. They've been pure Airbus client for years. Also thought it was interesting that they're also buying 7 A340-600s, which has gotten a little "bad" press lately because of their fuel efficiency (or lack of it).

Well, LH is a large operator of the 346, so it'll make more sense for them to get a good price from Airbus than to switch to the 773ERs.
Air France, while being a large 343 operator, switched to the 777 earlier on.
