I've done quite a few 15 hour flights, and I have also done the following where I did not leave the plane.
In 1990 I flew with KLM from Amsterdam to Abu Dhabi to Singapore to Melborne to Sydney.
That was painful, I didn't know if the next meal was breakfast lunch or dinner
I was still moving with the plane for about a day

Several years ago I did the Atlanta to Cape Town flight which was about 17 hours but they stopped in the Cape Verdi islands for refueling. However, one was not allowed off the plane during the refueling and they asked everyone to stay seated as people came into the plane to empty trash and clean the restrooms. The flight was with South African Airways and I enjoyed six of the red wines on that flight.

shortest flight - DCA-BWI enroute to YYZ - 35 miles give or take and it was one of the worst flights I've ever been on - 12 min of trying not to toss my cookies since we were flying barely above the tree tops in heavy turbulence. I kept telling myself that I'd be so embarassed if I was sick on a 12 minute flight, but I was a pale shade of green when we landed.

Shortest flight PHX-TUS = 45 mins. VS 2 Hr. drive unless
Phoenix traffic. I have done this flight so often I am certain I could fly the plane.
Longest flight SFO-STT = 18 hrs.on AA
This is a real "see America" flight due to
connections.
See, P_M, I told ya Europe was "closer".

Living in NZ alot of my flights are long haul. Have just done Auckland to Hong Kong - about 11 hours - then an 8 hour wait at Hong Kong airport - followed with a 12 flight to Frankfurt. Think the worst thing about it was the 8 hour stopover, bit like torture. No sleep at all there or on the planes. My flight left Auckland around midnight, which meant I had already been awake 18 hours before even getting onboard. So I figure out by the time I got to Frankfurt, I had been awake for something like 50 hours.
