IAH - 40 min to for Int'l connection?

Continental issuing me a ticket with only 40 min to connect IAH-CUN.

Mexico flights often don't leave from international terminal and i'm hoping this is the case since there's no way I'd make it. I've never been to IAH -- it's not as huge as DFW is it?

IAH-CUN is all mainline - leaving from C or E, just like other domestic mainline flights. No difference in procedure either.

If you're arriving from a RJ, you'll come in at Terminal B and require taking a train. 40 minutes can be tight. If you're coming in on a mainline, then plenty of time.

No, it is not as huge nor ugly to get around as DFW. Even if you have to change terminals, 40 minutes is doable. The inter-terminal tram is within the sterile area so you do not have to re-clear security. You won't have time to browse duty free but you should make your connection without a problem.

Im flying CO ord-iah-cun : is that mainline and I can make a 40 min connection? If we miss, surely they'd route us on next plane out, yes?

I'm glad to hear IAH not as massive as DFW. thanks for all your knowledge!

ORD-IAH is mostly mainline, but there are 2 flights a day on regional jet. If your flight number is 2xxx, that's RJ.

Yes, if you miss your connection, they'll put you on the next one, if there are seats. And if you're on the last flight, next day.

fishee, by looking at CO's schedule my guess is that you are on the early morning flight to IAH? If you don't make your connection there are several more flights going to Cancun that day, and of course they will rebook you for a missed connection due to a flight delay.

yes, 5:30 am flight and many flights to CUN afterwards although i really, really want to make this connection and arrive in Mexico at 11:30 am.

I'm willing to run with bags (carry-on only of course so it's all super heavy), sweating profusely in a panic while apologizing and trying to run around people on more leisurely strolls in the terminal since they arrived at appropriately early times... thanks everyone!
