Help finding inexpensive flight from OMA to LAX

Help finding inexpensive flight from OMA to LAX

On a fairly tight budget to attend a national conference. Need a flight departing OMA on July 1 and returning on July 7, both anytime of the day. I would like to get something around $220 or less including taxes if possible?

Right now, seems that everything is $280 to $320 or more...... any help?

$288 with Northwest was the cheapest I saw. Keep checking, Delta, United and U.S. Air will need to lower their prices soon or they will be flying empty planes.

Probably not from OMA. If you don't mind driving to Kansas City, then it's about $220 on Southwest or other airlines out of MCI.

I wouldn't mind driving to KC, but I would need to get it at least at $150... in order to save any money. Between parking the car a week and the gas ($50) for round trip and possibly even needing a hotel room if my flight is too early to make a 3 hour car drive in the morning.

I did end up with a flight on Northwest and actually for what I think is an exorbitant price, $288, I believe. I have a redeye flight back to Omaha that will save me one night's lodging in Los Angeles.

So with the hotel savings, I probably ended up with a $220 flight in the long-run.. thanks for your help.
