Last month, thanks to frequent flyer miles, I did Gainesville to Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) via Atlanta, Salt Lake, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore and finally to Port Moresby.

Didn't you check the itinerary before you booked the ticket?

Unfortunately, due to the restricted capacity during the holiday, I was subjected to a double connection on both dates. On the flipside of it all, I thank God everyday I am very patient and I will be earning even more miles on this trip. (I should have booked more than 3 months in advance!)

I turned it down, but could have saved money flying from Omaha, NE to Toledo, OH by making two connections: one in Cleveland and the other in Charleston, SC.

We used aeroplan pts. to get from Calgary to San Jose, Costa Rica. We had to fly into Mexico City and overnite there for 2 nights. What a hassle going thru the lineups at Mexico City airport TWICE and going to and from the hotel, and with 2 children with us!! The good part, however, was seeing the Sun and moon pyramids outside the city.
