Dumbest/most out of the way connection you've ever had to make

What's the dumbest connection you've ever had to make to get somewhere within the US? I'm talking about the "going around your $#@ to get to your elbow" sort of connection.

Once, to get a great internet-only fare, I had to go from Nashville to Minneapolis via Atlanta. About 45 minutes after we left Atlanta, the pilot came over the intercom and said, "And if you look out the left side of the plane, you'll see Nashville...."

Philadelphia to San Juan via New York with a 4 hour lay over. This wasn't for a cheap fare but part of a cruise package with Cunard that was booked nearly a year in advance.

this thread is too funny. And I thought it was bad when I went Nashville to Raleigh via Memphis. I think Denver to LAX via MSP is the worst so far! LOL!

Either NYC when travelling from Rio to London or Paris when travelling NYC to London. Both with Continental.

Traveling Tampa to Cancun. Had to fly through Atlanta, about 3 hours after we left our house, we flew over it! My husband pointed it out to me through the window.

I have had some pretty bad ones in the past but two veery recent bad ones:
1)going Chicago to Nashville via Washington DC! United frequent flyer ticket

2)Cicinnati Ohio to Washington DC via Atlanta Delta grequent flyer miles

seems liek every time I want to use my miles all the direct flights are "booked" or at least have no seats left for frequent flyers so I have to go the cicuitous route but at least its free! Now if I am booking regular or doing an internet fare that I have to pay for, I would NEVER pay to go hundreds/thousands miles out of my way.

Try Bangkok to Chicago, via Hong Kong and SAn Francisco stops. I think I was sleepwalking for the last leg from SFO to ORD. Have no idea how I made it home from the airport.
