Connecting Flight Vienna Intl

We are flying from O'Hare into Vienna on Austrian arriving at 9 AM. Our flight out of Vienna to Ljubljana is on Adria Airways at 10:10 AM. Have we allowed ourselves enough time to catch the flight to Ljubljana?

I don't know much about VIE, but your flight out of ORD can easily be an hour or two late, especially during spring, summer and winter (i.e. anytime. )

Do either of you know the Vienna airport well enough to know if Austrian airlines and Adria Airways arrival and departure gates would be in close proximity to each other?

TTJL...Since Day One, the airlines have been the ones who determine the minimum connecting times at any given airports. It's been a while since I've been thru Vienna, but as I remember the gates are close. The airlines dont set connecting times that wont work.

Really? You may want to post a thread on the Europe board to ask how many has missed a "legal" 60-70 minute connection at CDG between AF flights.

Austrian and Adria are both not only Star Alliance members, but they are part of the Lufthansa-owned group. Flight delays are always possible, but the strong likelihood is that you'll make the connection. And, if you don't, the two airlines' alliance will expedite any rerouting.

It's been nearly two years since I flew through Vienna, but I remember it as a fairly easy airport to navigate., with decent signage. I wouldn't stress over it.

No. Austrian Airlines (AUA) are not owned by Lufthansa, neither wholly nor partly. In fact, they are trying hard to stay independent.

Perhaps you mix them up with Swiss (formerly known as Swiss Air).

Thanks for the correction/clarification, grrr. Austrian uses Miles & More as their FF program, and LH refers to them (as well as Swiss, Adria, and a few others) as "Fully Integrated Airline Partners." I mistakenly assumed that meant that LH had an ownership stake in the company.
