Depending on the carrier and what you mean by "later in the year", you may not be able to get seat assignments yet. Here's the source for reviews of specific seats:
http://www.seatguru.com/
Others will have to advise on the view.

Hawaiii will not get the new 330s in the near future. Alll new 330-300 are used for Europe, and the 330-200 on Tokyo routes.
But the World Business Class seats on the DC10 should be pretty decent, despite the age of those planes.

thanks rk do you have any suggestions on seat assignment. What would be best in first class or are there any seats that are that bad in first class. Looking to see the islands as we approach Hawaii so was wondering what side of plane to set on.

Never flown NW's WBC, and haven't been to Hawaii for years. But follow Flyboy's advice and check out www.seatguru.com One of my favorite websites.
