AirTran?
Greetings,
I am attending the wedding of a dear friend's son who is getting married in Richmond VA this August. I am flying from Orange County (I would be willing to drive to LAX) I searched on Kayak and AirTran flies from LAX via Atlanta into Richmond.
I have never flown on AirTran - anyone have any information on them? Like will they still be in business in August mainly...
.
Thanks in advance,
Dawn

Hi Dawn:
AirTran is completely reputable. I've only taken them once, and I had no problems. They have XM Radio inflight, which is a nice plus.
You might also consider JetBlue, which flies to Richmond from Long Beach, LAX & Burbank.

If there is a JetBlue to Richmond from LAX, I highly recommend it!!! My family & I had our first experience with JetBlue on a short flight from NYC to Boston.....and we were very impressed.
The plane was clean, with leather seats, the FA were personable and the pilot and co-pilot were prompt in informing us all the details of our flight. We were served drinks (soda, juice, coffee) and small packet of either chocolate chip cookies or cashew nuts. All these on a very short <1hr flight.
Oh, BTW, each seat has its own AVOD, and tied to DISH cable (?), so I could even watch HGTV!!!

Sorry I just saw it was an over night and a long lay over in NYC - It is a 12 hour flight time from Long Beach when I went back to look. I have no desire to fly all night - get in on Sat when the wedding is that day.

AirTran is very popular up and down the East coast, with many non-stops from points in the NE to Florida, plus Atlanta as a big hub. No frills but clean, relatively new planes (mostly Boeing 717 & 737s). We use them without 2nd thoughts when the route/fare is right.

I had to double check again, to be sure it was on Kayak - but it is there
No Southwest right on Kayak? It had Jetblue and Airtran though.
This morning Continental is showing up the least expensive. I have to wait to book to see about school scheduling...

Southwest must be searched and bought on www.southwest.com only.
