A319/A320 seat question
I have said it before, and I'll say it again, I don't find Airbus seats to be all that comfortable for me. That said, I have to fly on both the A319 and A320 next week from ORD to IAD and back.
I've booked UA econ+ seats in row 6, which seatguru shows as "green" (good seats). When I booked these UA flights, I was really surprised that both planes had very few seats left, but row 6 was still available. Why would people avoid row 6?
I've requested upgrades to 1st, but if they don't come through, should I move out of row 6? Overhead space is not a problem as I usually check a bag rather than carry it on.
Thanks.

Yep, BeachBoi, I'm aware of that. Seatguru says that on "some" planes of this type, that adds to the legroom, which I like because I'm nearly 6'. I often select bulkhead because no one will recline into my lap!!
But I still wonder why everyone else who booked seats on this plane did NOT select row 6??? The plane is really pretty well filled up.
Thanks for your reply.

I like row 6 on the UA mainline A319/320s. I'm not sure if this is true of every plane, but most of the ones I've been on lately have a cut-out on the lower part of the bulkhead wall in front of row 6, so you can extend your legs farther and also use the space under the first-class seat in front for storage.

Is it possible they are holding those seats just for elites? I'm prem exec level.
I like the idea of the storage underneat the 1st class seat in front of me... thanks ms_go. That's good news, even though I won't have more than my purse and small computer bag.
Looks like I'll be very happy in row 6.

Carol....Yes, the seats are Premium Blocks for Elites as you are.Rows 6,7,8, and 9 are blocked, Rows 10 and 11 are the Exit Rows.Like my grandmother says, there is no seat like a First Class seat;and there are no bad seats in FC.....

BeachBoi and others...
I book on United.com all the time, and yes, I take seats in econ+ because they are offered to me, as a prem exec passenger. My main question still remains, though, why were other prem exec passengers NOT taking those seats in row 6 before I got them? The plane was nearly filled when I booked the seats just two days ago. Surely there are other people who would have taken those seats, if offered??? Why didn't they???
