Want to visit Egypt, Jordan and Oman

We only have 9 days in total and would like to visit Cairo, Petra and Oman. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Suggestions on what to visit and which tour operators can organise a tailored tour?

Easy enough to get between Cairo and Amman (for Petra), but you'll have to figure out how to get to Oman from either CAI or AMM. Once you know how, then I believe you can work on what or who may be able to assist.

That's overly ambitious.

Have you been before to Egypt -- it would be a shame to visit Cairo and not travel down to Luxor and the Valleys of the Kings and Queens.

I haven't been to Petra, but I have spent time in Oman. What do you want to see there -- its a very large country, and the highlights are spread out.

I'm sure there is no package tour that hits all three places in 9 days. You don't need a tour operator -- just book the airfare and deal with local guides.

Its crazy, but it can be done. You'll see very little other than airports, but I think you can technically spend time in all three places in 9 days.

If you save Oman for another trip you can see much more of Egypt and Jordan, and travel much more enjoyably.

Just my two cents, but I have done 6 or so visits to the Middle East, and it deserves more than a whistle stop tour of airports and UNESCO sites.

Thanks Michael. I think you're right.
After doing some research on Egypt, I have quickly realised that it would be a waste to visit these Egypt, Oman and Jordan in 9 days. As a result, we have decided to visit Egypt for 2 weeks and to fly from Sharm El Sheik to Jordan for 2 days.
