"Today Throws A Wedding" - Safari Honeymoon - VOTE!
This is so out of character for me, but this got me.
The Today Show (WNBC) has been "throwing a wedding" these past four years - planning everything for a bride & groom including the honeymoon. And viewers have the opportunity to vote on everything from where, invitations, food, rings, gowns, favors, and even the honeymoon.
While the honeymoon selections these past years have been interesting, never was Africa a choice. Then, the other morning as they were giving the choices, all I heard was a "round trip air on SAA to" and before even hearing the details, I did what I've never done before - got onto the site and I voted!
The honeymoon consists of a stay at the Westcliff in JNB, Safari at Richard Branson's Ulasaba Lodge (pressume Rock Lodge which has a great view) at Sabi Sand Pvt Reserve, then five-days on Fregate Island in the Seychelles.
Voting has to be completed by Tuesday, September 2, 12N (ET) - so go to:
www.msnbc.com/news/TODAYTHROWSAWEDDING_Front asp
The choice (of four - Fiji, Canadian Rockies, Europe by Land & Sea & Safari) that receives the most votes is where the couple will Honeymoon.
And I must add that the brides face lit up when she heard the safari choice, so we know that at least one of the couple is interested.
I'm sure there are lots of us Fodorites especially on the Africa Board who would favor this choice. So go on line and Vote!

Hi All...
Yes, I voted.
I am a diehard "Today Throws a Wedding" fanatic and have voted every year. So far I have voted correctly on seven out of the ten items this year.
The Honeymoon choice is really difficult. For once, all the choices are good (usually two of them just suck) but I have to admit that the Today program really did a good job this year.
Chris, the male of the the wedding party, is really into boating so I think the European trip/cruise may get the most votes but, of course, in my humble opinion, the African safari/Seychelles option is definitely the best!
Hopefully, others will think so too!

Kavey -
I believe the UK is 5-hrs ahead of New York, so that's 5pm UK.
However, the Today show indicated 12N, and I'm assuming (one should never assume) it's Eastern Time - but then it can be 12N across the country which is a 3-hr window.
But thanks for your vote.
