I know about tipping guides, but what are the guidelines for combined tips for other camp/lodge employees?

There have been quite a few recent threads about tipping in general, currency to use (depends on where you're going), amounts, etc.

Seems like I would learn to put the countires in the subject line. Maybe someday.....We will be in Namibia and Zambia. I tried "tips", but there must be another word to use because I only came up with hint-type tips.

we usually give $5.00 a day each for the camps pooled tip jar. I also give individual tips to others such as the guard who walks us to the room each night and the laundry person. not all of the employees share in the pooled tips so I try to give a little to those not included who have done something nice on our stay.

I agree with Dennis. The best thing is to chk with the managers at the camp you are staying as to recommended norms......
