I wish there were universal guidelines for tipping guides and camp personnel. FWIW, Expert Africa (who recently arranged a last-minute safari to Zambia for me, and whose service and information have been impressive) suggests $5 per day per guest for guides, and $5 per guest per day for general camp personnel.

I was the person who mentioned I've kept left over meds and so far if/when I've needed them at a future date, they've worked just fine. This, of course, is NOT recommended by your doc and certainly not the pharma companies - they want to make money. The expiration date on most meds means that your drug store can't sell it or docs can't hand out these samples. Doesn't necessarily mean the meds aren't still effective.
With the exception of an antibiotic taken about 20+/yrs ago for an extracted tooth... no need since. So other than script for my malaria meds and for Cipro (just in case when traveling), don't feel upset walking out of docs office without a piece of paper.
Each has to decide for themselves what works best for them.
