point to point is likely to take you somewhere around 3.5 hours. It is an easy drive, tarred road and so on. You might find getting through the Strand/Somerset West to be a little slow, however the coastal route is quite beautiful.

There are 2 routes, via the N2 highway should take just under 3hrs, via the coastal route agree about 3½ hours. I have visited at least 3 times via both routes. Would point out there is not a lot to do here but I like the mystic rugged coastline. There is a clear distinction where the colour of the water changes. If you have time take the coastal route.
I will never forget driving through the mountains when suddenly an eagle flew alongside the car.

As above there are 2 routes you can take. Why not take a circular route and do the inland or the N2 route past the wheat fields there (220km) and then take the coastal route on the return (270km). It is possible to do the trip in a day but would be rushed unless you enjoy travelling for at least 6 - 7 hours in a car.
Recommended accommodation while in Agaulhas would be the Agulhas Backpackers, having stayed thee, I can recommend them and they have a variety of room options to choose from and the owners are friendly and staff helpful.
