Oh Liz, I'm so sorry it hasn't worked out this time. But there is a bright side somewhere in all this - you've now made the difficult mental leap to return to Africa even after all you experienced earlier this year; now it's just the logistics that need to be right. So I'm sure that we will be reading a post from you very soon that tells us you have a trip all signed and sealed.

Liz,
Not sure what kinds of airfare you were quoted, but I just came across this website http://www.ukair.com/content/view/2/2/
which has some pretty good fares, and I immediately thought of you! Though they might be limited to coach.
Good luck!
Heather

Heather-
Thanks, but it must be the flat beds. Not all Bus. Class has them. We'll have the miles for First Class in January. Its just a matter of time until we can get AA to grant them. They so limit the numbers that it may take a year. I just can't go through a consolidator again and regular fare is just too high for the length of trip my back will allow for us. We fly from the West Coast of U.S. and its just a real long haul. Two overnights and that is a problem. Thanks anyway. I've just got to let it go for now.
Sundowner- Thanks, its hard to see very far down the road right now. I so hope something is lurking up ahead. I feel very lucky to have such good friends as you all. Where it goes from here, who knows. Liz
